UNIFORM - ARTICLE IX


Section 4. Standard Uniform. The uniform of this Association is:

• Gray trousers (Fechheimer Brother Company #68230);

• Cliff Keen navy blue micro-mesh shirt (model number U126) with state logo embroidered directly on the middle pocket. The wearing of the emblem is mandatory. The pocket may be a regular pocket (sewn on three sides, open top) or an open top pocket with a separate section for a pencil or pen;

• Black shoes or commercially made shoes, predominantly black in color with logos and/or trademarks of white only allowed;

• Black socks;

• Navy blue fitted hat with optional white lettering of the chapter's initials or optional embroidered NYSBUA state logo. All hats shall be fitted hats with no mesh hats permitted. The white lettering of the chapter's initials on hats must be 2" high with white letters. If a Chapter approves lettering or the state logo each member of the chapter must wear one. The State Secretary must be notified if a chapter adopts a logo;

• Navy blue or gray ball bag;

• Black belt;

• Black, blue, red or gray mask (straps and padding black, navy blue, red, gray or tan/natural). Hockey–style mask is acceptable;

• A navy blue nylon (flat back) pullover jacket with zippered turtleneck, collar, waistband, cuffs are navy blue knit with navy/red/white trim, no pockets, embroidered patch. The pullover has been designed and is produced by Anaconda Sports; The new pullover is optional for each chapter to adopt for 2002 and will be mandatory in 2003.

• Optional black or navy blue plate coat specifically designed for baseball may be worn behind the plate only;

• Navy blue or true red undershirt. Umpires working together must coordinate their colors;

• Navy blue or red turtle neck shirt may be worn under a jacket but may not be worn under a short sleeved shirt without a jacket. Umpires working together must coordinate their colors;

• Any visible undergarments must be navy blue or red. Both officials must wear the same colored undergarment;

• Equipment must be black or navy blue with the exception of the chest protector which may be any color;

• Black sweaters are prohibited.

Section 5. Official N.Y.S.B.U.A. Emblem.

The official N.Y.S.B.U.A. emblem shall be embroidered (with the top of the patch centered) on the left breast of the shirt, and jacket. Wearing of the emblem is mandatory. Members found not wearing the proper uniform will be fined as described in Appendix A to Article IX, payable to the Chapter Treasurer.

The NYSBUA Advisory Committee has approved the following suppliers as distributors of the NYSBUA shirt.
